Everybody gets a turn

Although this is not a great picture It is a great illustration of a very important family rule. Everyone gets a turn. Walter came up with the rule. As a family we voted on it and agreed that it was a good one. Today Our turn was spent working and his turn was spent on the family evening walk. Note: Walter has lobbied for many rules in our family over the last 14 years. Only 2 rules have made it through the Congress of the Hopkins family. The first rule of course is that everyone gets a turn. The second rule is our favorite. Never pass up an opportunity to pet the border collie, Of course meaning Walter.

Yellow rose of friendship

I picked this yellow Rose from Garden and put it in a single rose glass container. It was on our kitchen counter Sunday evening and Tina and I both enjoyed it very much. On Monday as I was leaving for work I saw the Rose and thought that no one was going to be Able to enjoy it for the remainder of the day. I thought, why not bring it to work and give it to Mabel my friend of 27 years for her to enjoy for the next couple of days. As it turns out Maybel myself and a host of other people have enjoyed the Rose shamelessly Unfurling it's petals for our enjoyment.

Re: Running down the road

It's funny you sent this today. Yesterday I worked at Lincoln Kaiser and on my drive had fleeting memories of all the miles covered in Lincoln. We miss running there. We truly do. Today as I ran I even thought about it again. We've found some good routes here, but still so many miles in good 'ole Lincoln.

Running down the road

The Eagles penned a song many years ago titled taking it easy: It started out with the words, "Well I was running down the road" Which is what I was doing today on the old Highway 65 (G Street). It was barricaded off for a parade and I was able to run for a full three quarters of a mile down what was once a very busy stretch of road. It was a little weird but very cool. The best part was becoming part of the parade as I Ran through Old town Lincoln. Does this scene look familiar?

This picture begs the question

While on our 10 mile walk on Sunday we saw this chicken crossing the road which begs the question:
Why did the chicken...

BBQ Chicken

BBQ'd an entire bag of chicken today. Will serve us well during the week.

Flying Formation

The Flying Fortress often hangs out on the grass directly in front if our office windows. I went outside to get a picture and they all took to the air for safety and to head back to the water across the street from the post office.

20 Miles Today

I took this picture after running to the apex of the Pleasant Grove overpass which is exactly 10 miles from our home in Lincoln. After I took the picture I turned around and ran home. I have done this run a number of times. It is a sure fire way of getting a 20 mile run in by running 10 miles out and having to run 10 miles back.
